A Doctor and a Queen, namely Waitress’ Gavin Creel and Six The Musical’s Alexia McIntosh, were on hand today to announce the 2020 Olivier Awards nominations, just a month before the ceremony takes place on 5 April at the Royal Albert Hall. So now the celebrations have begun, particularly in the & Juliet, Fiddler On The Roof, Dear Evan Hansen and Mary Poppins camps, all of which have received plenty of love from the nominating panel. They have been found. Meet the all-British full West End cast of London’s premiere production of Tony Award-winning Dear Evan Hansen which opens for previews at the Noël Coward Theatre on 29 October 2019.

2019
On Sunday, the 2019 Olivier Awards ceremony brought together the great and the good of the British Theatre world in one place. As usual, both the ceremony and the red carpet brought us ALL the feels, and some tweeters could only truly explain how they were feeling in gif form...
The anticipation is properly building in the run up to the biggest night in the theatre calendar and now it has gone up a notch with news that all the nominated musicals will be performing at the Olivier Awards 2019 ceremony on 7 April at the Royal Albert Hall, plus The Lion King and Mamma Mia! will be celebrating 20 years in the West End. Oh, and did we mention that stars like Gloria Estefan and Katharine McPhee will be presenting awards?
In the same week that queues of hopefuls lined up for the Dear Evan Hansen open auditions, dates have been confirmed for the Tony Award-winning Broadway show’s West End transfer, with previews at the Noël Coward Theatre set to begin on 29 October 2019 followed by an opening night on 19 November. Now it’s all about what the casting will be!
